Previous life: Served four years in Air Force, worked for 21 years in Payload Processing and Space Station integration for Boeing at Kennedy Space Center. Former professional runner for Brooks and Nike for team Track Shack.
Claim to fame: His cross country teams at Holy Trinity have won 11 state championships, more than any other coach in Florida history.
His motto: Set Goals Not Limits. Most people have set pyschological limits based on their physiological capabilities. We are capable of physically doing far more than our minds allow us to do. Once I can convince you to stop setting mental barriers, you are going to achieve much greater things than you ever thought possible.

?It does not surprise me in the least that in the last 10 years or so, Coach Butler has reached this level of success. His love for the sport, love for the kids, and competitive nature are unmatched. I can think of no more deserving coach, and I feel very proud and honored to be a part of the tradition.
?In seven years you grow up a lot, and he witnessed that in me from sixth grade until the time I graduated, and even now I greatly enjoy running with him over breaks and catching up. It?s hard to think about not having him or running in my life, but without this team and his encouragement, my life might look very different. Coach Butler has a gift; he always knew what he needed to say to keep me motivated and believing myself ? ?
